SHISHAMO

SHISHAMO is a Japanese pop rock band formed in 2010 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. The name “SHISHAMO” is derived from the local dialect term for a type of fish known as “shishamo,” which is popular in the region. The band consists of four members: vocalist and guitarist Aya Matsuki, guitarist and backing vocalist Kazuki Kato, bassist and backing vocalist Yui Sato, and drummer and backing vocalist Ami Nakagawa. SHISHAMO is known for their catchy melodies, relatable lyrics, and energetic performances, appealing particularly to a younger audience. They gained significant popularity in the Japanese music scene through their engaging songs that often explore themes of youth, love, and everyday experiences.
